A Weekend of 1st

This is Kendall in her shopping cart/restaurant high chair cover.  It's purpose is to protect her from sitting in the germ filled shopping carts and high chairs that are for public use.  Since Kendall is a big girl now and can sit up all by herself, it was only fitting that she sit up in the shopping cart at Target in style.  By the time we left, she was leaning back and getting extra comfortable...lol

Kendall eating her first cracker.  She loved it so much, she had two crackers.  We discovered this past week that Kendall has two teeth coming in at the bottom.  It's amazing how fast she is growing up.  Oh yeah, we were at Kendall's friend Ashton's birthday party.  He turned the Big 3.

Chloe holding Kendall for the first time

Kendall eating a cheese puff.  They are baby friendly because they dissolve in her mouth.  She loved them of course because what kid doesn't love cheese puffs.  She was even using her new little teeth to bite into it.  I have to say it again, she is growing up.  Where does the time go?

Enjoying Nature

This past Saturday, Scott, Emoni, Amauri, and I all went to the deer woods to go four-wheeler riding.  We all had a blast.  It was so funny seeing their faces as Scott went a little faster down trails.  Hilarious!!!!!  Scott brought his 9mm along for the ride (for the just in case).  He actually fired off a few rounds, and we got to try out our headphones to muffle the sound (safety first when it comes to our nieces.)  All I can say is we had some good times.  Check out the pictures below.

Weekly Menu

Monday:  Pizza-got to get ready for Monday Night Football

Tuesday:  Beef Tacos

Wednesday:  Chicken pasta alfredo-I have teen church tonight, so dinner has to be something quick.  Thank God for frozen dinners.

Thursday:  Family Night-we will pick up something or go out to eat

Friday:  Tilapia, mash potatoes, and green beans

I am trying to get as organized as I can with working, mothering Kendall, and being a wife.  The more things I can plan ahead for, the better my days are.

Lunchtime Chronicles

Just thought I would say Hi to everybody today. Here's me sitting in my car during lunch. I just wanted to get out of the building today and get some sunshine. I ate leftover lemon pepper tilapia, long grain rice, and grilled zucchini. Very Yum! Just three and a half more hours to go. Yaaaaaay!

I'm 9 Months Y'all

When:  August 27th

Weight:  14lbs 15oz.  I think she weighs a little over 15lbs now.  We shall see during her 9 months appt that's coming up.

Length:  26.5 inches long.  She has really gotten long.

Diapers:  Size 2

Clothes:  6 month and 6 to 9 month.  She can fill out some 9 month clothes, but they are too long.  She will keep socks on her feet now, which is really good since she's in daycare.  I got these cute little shoes from Carters.  Those seem to be the only ones that she will keep on her feet.

Food:  She drinks between 4-5oz of breastmilk, loves carrots, sweet potatoes, and pears, and also oatmeal cereal.  She likes yogurt and suckers too.

Milestones:  She can officially sit up by herself unassisted, and she can hold her own bottle.  We put Kendall in this bouncer that she has that she use to hate.  Now, its perfect for feeding since it tilts her backwards.  She is growing up so fast.  I really think seeing what the other kids at daycare are doing is helping progress her along.  We are also only let her get her pacifier when she goes to sleep at night.  She has been doing well and not crying for her paci during the day.

Likes:  Anything sweet, touching daddy's hairy face, jumping in her jumper roo, taking baths, grabbing mommy's necklace and work badge and trying to put it in her mouth, and playing period with her toys.

Dislikes:  Being alone, being in the dark, any kind of turkey baby food, wearing most shoes, and sitting in her car seat.

Thought for the Week

Pucker Up...A True Lemon Lover

One day I noticed that I truly have a love for the taste of lemon.  I mean, I just love that sour, tangy taste.  Here are some of the foods that I just love with the flavor of lemon.

Lemon Cake

Lemon Drop Martini

Lemon Icebox Pie

Water with Lemon

Lemon Pepper Tilapia

Lemon Pepper Wings (I love Wingstop's wings)

Lemonade (I prefer fresh squezed or Minute Maid....Simply Lemonade is good too)

A Greek Family

Today at church was Represent Sunday. This is when church members get to wear t-shirts representing their colleges, fraternity/sorority, favorite pro teams, or businesses. Being that Scott and I are members of Kappa Alpha Psi and Alpha Kappa Alpha, we had to wear our t-shirts to represent. And of course, we couldn't leave out Miss Kendall. She wore a "Future AKA" onesie that I made especially for the occassion.

My Tasty Travels

McAlister's Savannah Chopped Salad:  Fresh and delicious leafy greens with grilled chicken, gorgonzola cheese(I didn't care for this cheese too much, dried cranberries, cucumbers, and honey roasted almonds.  I got the sherry shallot dressing. I give this salad a B+.  It was really good, but I had to take off points for the gorgonzola cheese that had a twangy taste.  Everything else was delish!

Chick-Fil-A's Spicy Chicken Biscuit...This dish is very self-explanatory and yum!  A+

Chick-Fil-A's Mini Chicken Biscuits....I ate them with honey.  The bread is more of a roll than a biscuit.  Very Yum!  A+++

Back to Work......Starting Daycare

Well, I am officially a Working Mom.  I started back to work yesterday, so of course that meant that Kendall had to go to daycare.  We started her in daycare last Monday to see how she would do.  Scott and I dropped her off Monday morning.  She took to the teachers well.  She didn't cry, and to everyone's surprise, I didn't either.  My plan was to check in on her a couple of times a day to be sure that all was well with her.  The first day wasn't the best for Scott and I.  I think it was a reality check for us to see babies crying and the daycare workers managing so many kids.  Day 2 was a lot better.  After getting to know the daycare workers and sitting with Kendall for an hour or so when I dropped her off, I felt a lot better about her being up there.  Her teacher Ms.Tiki reassured me that she would take care of my baby, and it was normal  for me to be a little overprotective.   I just decided to pray over my baby and try my hardest not to worry about her.  I accomplish the praying part, but I am still working on the not worrying part...lol  Any who, here are some pics of Kendall at daycare.

Taco Tico.......mmmm Yum!

Today, we went to Taco Tico, which just so happens to be one of my favorite fast food places from my hometown. This is a picture of a deluxe enchilada and taco. It was so good. I sure hope Taco Tico never goes out of business because this food is downright delish!

Happy Birthday, Nana!!!!!!!!!!

Today is my mama/Kendall's nana's birthday.  We all went to Texarkana to celebrate this special occassion.  Oh yeah, she turned the big 55!  We went out to eat to Copeland's on Friday.  We had a good little time.  Saturday, my dad grilled ribs and chicken wings.  I made some loaded mash potatoes, salad, a fruit tray with fruit dip, and a birthday cake (carrot cake with cream cheese buttercream) to go along with it.  My aunt made baked beans.  It all turned out yummy.  I wanted to be sure that my mom didn't do any cooking all weekend because she is usually in the kitchen cooking for us when we come down there.  She got to spend lots of time with Kendall, which was a gift all in itself for her.  Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Kendall and Nana

Kendall and Butta (Kendall's great-grandma)....Butta is always wearing hats to help block the sun in the summer or to keep her head warm in the winter. She bought Kendall this hat, so I had to get a picture of them together with their hats on. Super Cute!!!

This is Kendall in her "Nana's Girl" onesie that I made for the occassion.  Mama loved it!

This is a picture frame with Kendall holding N-A-N-A letters to spell out Nana.  It turned out really cute, and mama loved it.  I got the idea from pinterest.  You got to love that website.

Kendall and Papa.

Nana and Kendall this morning before we left.  They both had a great weekend, and Kendall made Nana's birthday weekend very special.  Happy Birthday, Ma, and may God bless you with many more.  Love you lots!

My Fitness Pal

This is my new website/app that I am obsessed with.  This website helps you know how many calories are in the food that you eat.  You can also put in your current weight and your goal weight, and it will tell you how many calories you can take in in order to achieve you goal weight.  You can add friends, so you can see how they are doing as well.  Scott and I are doing it, and it is really fun and interesting.  It's just amazing to see how many calories are in food that you eat everyday.  Scott and I have had some good laughs with this site.

If you are working out, this is definitely a good site to log into daily.

Doing Great at Eight.....8 Months that is!

Kendall in her 8 month onesie

New Nicknames:  The Kendallnator....like the terminator...she loves it!

Weight:  Not sure, but I think she is around 15lbs

Food:  Still on 4-5oz of breastmilk, baby food, and oatmeal cereal.  We gave her a little yogurt one day, and she loved it.  She also loves apple juice.

Clothes:  6 months.  I am so excited about the fall when I get to dress her in fall clothes. I am already brainstorming outfits.  Oh yeah, her shoe size is a 1.

Diapers:  Size 2

Milestones:  Kendall can sit up by herself unassisted until she realizes what she is doing...lol  I really think she will be sitting up here real soon though.  She can also say certain sounds like Da-Da and Ba-Ba.  She says Hey, and it is the cutest thing ever.  She rolls over, grabs everything, and scoots.  She is an excessive drooler with no teeth...lol  She can wear shoes, but she doesn't like to.  They are on her feet for about 2-3 minutes tops, then Kendall finds a way to get them off.  I think she may do better with boots this fall.  She also has these laughing spells that are the cutest thing ever.  You just got to love this kid!

Likes:  Pears, apple juice, yogurt, her new jumper, cold teething rings, staring at mommy and daddy as we eat, family hugs and kisses, splashing her feet in the bath tub, sucking on her fingers, drooling, hearing and seeing us snap our fingers, music, and smiling

Dislikes:  Wearing shoes and socks, waiting for her bottle to warm up, and being alone,

50 Shades of Grey-Great Read

This is "The Book" that everyone is talking about this summer.  This is the first book in a trilogy.  One of the main characters in the book is Christian Grey, and it has been so fun to hear all the women in the media visualizing what he looks like.  The author really made him seem like he had major swagger...lol  Any who, they are making this series into a movie in the future.  I will have all the books read ahead of time.  For all you book readers, check this book out.  Definitely a must read!!!!!!
