Juicy Juice

Scott and I decided to join this juicing craze.  We have read that drinking the juice of fruits and vegetables can help prevent certain diseases, make you feel better and have energy, plus helps you lose weight.  We got an Omega® Vertical Masticating HD Juicer.  It was amazing to me to see the pulp in one container and all the juice in another.  Our first juice surprise was a Hurricane of sorts.  It consisted of Kale, strawberries, oranges, grapes, pineapple, and celery.  It was pretty good.  It did leave a little celery after taste, but I like celery so that was fine with me.  I plan to drink a juice concoction once a day.  I can say that I do feel more vibrant and full of more energy.  I don't know if its just my mind playing tricks on me, but I can feel the energy burst.  I will keep you posted on how this juicing craze continues here in the Dismute house. Stay tuned!!!!!!!

The Zoo Experience

This past weekend, we went on our first family vacation.  We went to Memphis, Tennessee, and had a blast.  The main attraction that we looked forward to was taking Kendall to the Memphis Zoo.  It was a first for all of us, so we were all excited.  Kendall was so cute!  The funniest thing was when she called all the pelicans, cranes, penguins, and all the other birds "Ducks," and all the other animals were "Dogs."  Here are some pictures from our experience at the zoo.  Memories were definitely made!!!!!!

Teacher's Appreciation Week

This past week was Teacher Appreciation Week at Kendall's school.  To show our appreciation to Kendall's three teachers, Ms. Kathy, Ms. Whitney, and Ms. Toya, we got each teacher a daily gift during the whole week.  Of course, I got my ideas for the gifts from Pinterest.  Below is each gift.

Monday's gift:  Lemon and snickerdoodle cookies with a "Thanks for making me one smart Cookie" tag.  This was my first time making snickerdoodle cookies, and they turned out very moist and good.  I will post the recipe in a later post.

Tuesday's gift was a Mountain Dew soda and a Mounds candy bar with a tag that said, "Mounds of thanks for all you Dew."  You know it's amazing that I could only find Mounds candy bars at Target.  Almond Joys are everywhere!

This is a Bath Salt Sundae.  It includes Calgon bath salts with a shower puff.  The straw and tissue paper cherry on top are just decorations.  I got the containers from Sonic.  Glad they donated them to the cause for free.  I can't remember what the tag says, but it's a little poem saying how they can use this sundae to relax.

Thursdays gift is a bag of peppermints with a tag that says, "Everything you have done has "mint" a lot to me."

Fridays gift was an orange Fanta soda with a tag that says, " You are a "Fanta"stic teacher!"  The only place I could find these individual Fantas was at the Mexican restaurant down the street.
